Hello, My Dear,
Welcome to The Haven, Evergreen Women’s Holistic Care’s Monthly Newsletter.
The Haven is another way for us to love on you and support you in addition to your visiting us for your holistic care—and a place where you have a safe, informative space to explore yourself, your body, your needs, and how to honor each.
Healing begins with and in safety–a space where you can connect with your body, release what does not serve you, and receive what you deeply need.
We've crafted our newsletters for you with care and with your healing and safety in mind.
You deserve abundant spaces in this world to be still, to feel safe, and to flourish freely and authentically.
We hope The Haven becomes such a space for you.

The Moon Cycle Cookbook: A Holistic Nutrition Guide for A Well-Balanced Menstrual Cycle by Devon Loftus & Jenna Radomski, MScN
I found this book in a beautiful tea and spice shop in Paso Robles, CA. An unexpected road trip detour led to an unexpected stop in the beautiful, quaint, popular wine-country town.
While others may go to Paso Robles for the wine, for me, the gem of the town was this tea shop, Spice of Life. It offers loose-leaf teas and spices, local honey, a cafe with the most delicious matcha chai, and books!
This book caught my attention, and I had to bring it home. And on the next leg of our road trip, I dove right in, joyfully reading it from front to back in no time.
The recipes looked delicious, were allergy-friendly, and so well crafted.
But my favorite part, though?
The additional information and education explaining why the authors and curators selected each ingredient and how those ingredients support your cycle.
They also align each phase of the cycle with each season within nature—such a beautiful concept and eye-opening insight.
They also included reflections and personal practice to invite into your cycle routine to honor your emotions and your bodies—exceptional!
I, 10 out of 10, recommend you enjoy this book this season and in all seasons!
If you decide to read it, please share your thoughts with us!
October Bodycare Product Recommendation: Bodywash & Soap

We have used and continue to use all of our recommended products for our personal health care. We are not financially affiliated with any of these brands. We just really want to connect you to safe, clean-ingredient products that will support your health and healing journey.
*As with every product you use in or on your body, check out the ingredients of all these products before use. We provided links to the product details.
When it comes to our overall health and underlying conditions, we often leave the consideration of what we put on our bodies behind as we, hopefully, focus on what we put in our bodies.
We do our health a significant disservice by not paying attention to the ingredients in our food and body products.
So, a part of The Haven is sharing a clean ingredient alternative to what you may be using and encouraging you, if you haven’t, to look at the ingredients of your current product.
If you come across some ingredients you can’t identify, do a little homework and see what they are and if they are good for you.

Safe Space Saturdays
For Active Duty and Veteran Women in San Diego, California: Every Saturday, we hold a complimentary session open for a woman who is serving or has served.
From Alana M. Abernethy, Founder, Evergreen Women’s Holistic Care:
“As a retired sailor and veteran, I understand the effects the stress, challenges, and demands of service can have on your mental, emotional, and physical body as a woman.
My give-back mission at Evergreen is to ensure active duty and veteran women have a complimentary safe place to receive body care that will help them manage the demands of service and a place where they know they are heard, seen, and will be nurtured.”

What Some of Our Members Say About Evergreen Care
“My experience at Evergreen left me feeling both relaxed and rejuvenated! I was treated with top-notch care throughout my session. The environment immediately put me at ease right when I walked through the door and was greeted by Alana.
The intake questions were extremely thorough, allowing Alana to know exactly what my body required for our session. She focused on what my body needed, prioritizing the discomfort and stress I have experienced during my post-partum journey.
Bodywork with Alana has been crucial for my post-partum recovery and reconnection with my body.
I can’t recommend Evergreen enough, and I will be coming back regularly!”
“Alana is a pleasure to just be around.
Her energy is pure and authentic. She listened attentively to what I needed and delivered! I needed some deep tissue work for neck and back pain but also just to decompress, and she did an excellent job helping with both. Greatly skilled and takes her craft seriously.
I highly recommend a session with her!”
